Short answer: outsourced accounting in Odoo starts at around €350 a month. That applies to a small business with a well-configured Odoo environment. Three things push the amount up: the number of transactions, the services you choose and the state of the configuration. The Odoo licence comes on top. On Odoo Online, the user account for FID costs you nothing.
A fixed monthly fee
We prefer to work for a fixed monthly fee. It covers the recurring work:
- day-to-day bookkeeping and administration;
- VAT returns and periodic reporting;
- the annual accounts and the corporate income tax return;
- payroll (in Employes), if you outsource it to us.
The size of the monthly fee depends mainly on the size of the business, because that determines the number of transactions. In practice, almost every fee is tailored to some degree. Where a fixed fee does not fit, we work with an hourly rate or a package.
What pushes the price up
The biggest cost does not appear on the quote: an Odoo environment that has not been set up properly. What we often come across:
- A careless configuration. Wrong VAT codes, journals or integrations mean corrections every month.
- Too little training during the implementation. People work around Odoo instead of with it.
- Processes that are not followed. Invoices arrive late or incomplete, and receipts go missing.
- Changes made in-house without checking how they affect the accounting.
Each of these costs more hours than necessary and makes the figures less reliable. That is why we review the configuration first, with the Odoo finance check. On its own it costs €500 excl. VAT. For clients who go on to work with us, it is free.
Setup and clean-up
A business that is new to Odoo usually has an implementation partner setting up the environment. In that case, we include the basic financial settings in the monthly package: chart of accounts, VAT, journals and bank. Full configuration of Odoo, or clearing a backlog, we do on a time-and-materials basis: by the hour, with an estimate up front.
And the Odoo licence?
You pay for the licence directly to Odoo, separately from our services.
- Odoo Online: our user account in your environment costs you nothing extra.
- Odoo.sh or on-premise: our user account counts as a regular user, with licence costs.
Why we are not the cheapest
A traditional accounting firm working in Exact Online or Twinfield is often cheaper. Such a firm puts every client in the same system and works the same way for each of them. That is efficient.
We take the opposite approach: we work in your own Odoo, with your configuration and your processes. Every configuration is different, so there is a limit to how far we can standardise. In return, the accounting reflects how your business actually works, and errors are fixed at the source. We are not a traditional accounting firm. We combine bookkeeping and control, inside your own system.
Frequently asked questions
What is the minimum cost of outsourcing our accounting in Odoo?
Around €350 a month for a small business with a well-configured environment. The final amount depends on the size of the business and the services you choose.
Are the annual accounts included in the monthly fee?
Yes. We prepare the annual accounts and the corporate income tax return ourselves, and both are included in the fixed monthly fee.
Does an extra Odoo user for FID cost money?
Not on Odoo Online. On Odoo.sh or on-premise it does, because there it counts as a regular user.
Why is a poor configuration so expensive?
Every configuration error comes back as corrections every month. Setting it up properly once is almost always cheaper than correcting it again and again.
